Where It All Began

I never thought I would be writing a blog but here it is.  After years of child rearing, housekeeping, sign painting, and lots of web page building, I am creating a blog just for fun.  I am no Martha but I am going to share recipes, health tips, my love of miniatures, and who knows what all.  I will have several contributors so the subjects will be varied.

I hope you enjoy yourself.  It’s just fun for me and I hope you have fun too.

A bit of history

Being in the sign business for more than 30 years, I have followed in the footsteps of my family, with my grandfather having started the business in the early 1900's, pin striping wagons and painting the roofs and sides of barns, the first “outdoor advertising” as it is known in the sign business.

My background is in art.  I studied since I was a small child under the watchful eye of my aunt, attending the classes she gave at her studio. With her encouragement, after high school I continued my studies and became a commercial graphic artist and took over the family business specializing in outdoor advertising. 1975 was the year of change and Hase Sign System became Anne’s Sigh Shop later to become known as Pfeifer Publications.  I have designed and painted everything from small signs, banners, to lettering trucks and bill boards.  I continued to do logos and ad campaigns, for businesses and politicians, including business cards, newspaper ads, bill boards, TV commercials and radio spots.
In 1995 I branched out to the Internet doing web graphics and web sites.  I have taken up this blog instead of a web site today but only at my leisure.

The name change to Studio ANT Media (the ANT standing for Anne and Tom and our logo “ant” is for all things small) was made in 2003 to include other aspects of my business.  I made and sold "all things small"…miniatures, doll furniture, vignettes, doll houses, etc.

But I did that just for fun!  Along with that came semi-retirement.  Today brings retirement and leisure, time with my family, and time to shop, eat with friends, and reconnect with old friends.
Marketing has always been my business and in my blood.  Marketing, where we make mountains out of ant hills with heights of unique creativity in whatever we do, big or small.  And it is all fun.
